There are two basic technologies for propelling a boat, the more conventional being sub-drive which is present on almost all full size sport performance or pleasure boats. The second being surface drive which is mostly used for competition purpose boats. Sub or sub-surface drive means that the propeller hub is below the water line. Surface drive means that the propeller hub is above the water line. In gasoline model boating higher speeds and better performance is generally the case when using surface drive technology. All Enforcer boats utilize this theory. We have designed our hardware for these applications with the adjustment capabilities for fine tuning your boat for optimum performance in most water conditions. Surface drive allows a larger diameter propeller to be used with only one blade as the workforce at a given time. This is the most efficient means of high speed propulsion.
