We have manufactured specific tooling to produce a new type of self lubricating bushing that will last longer than the commonly used Lead Teflon bushings. The outer Stainless Steel casing has been lengthened to 9/16” from the standard 3/8” length of a standard lead Teflon bushing. This provides an additional 30% prop shaft support area per bushing, (60% overall) which is something we have been desperately needing when turning the large diameter props used on gasoline powered model boats. The inner coating is the secret to this new bushings success. It is a specially formulated “self lubricating” material that we had chemically engineered for our purpose.

Special considerations: We designed the OD of the SLB to, 0.319 where as the standard Lead Teflon bushing is, 0.316. This will allow you to slightly over drill (letter size O) your strut or cartridge to accommodate the new SLB’s to achieve the correct bushing/shaft clearance.
